Turbomeca (Safran) and HeliDax are celebrating 50,000 flight hours for the Arrius 2F
During one ceremony organized by HeliDax, Turbomeca (Safran) announced that its Arrius 2F engines have reached 50,000 flight hours on the 36 EC120 single-engine helicopters operated by HeliDax. Made available to EALAT (French Army Helicopter Pilot Training School), these aircraft are to be used during the basic training of future helicopter pilots (renovated Cougar, NH90, Caracal and Tiger) of the three French Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force) and the Gendarmerie.
"HeliDax reached a new goal achieving 50,000 flight hours in less than three years," said Jean-Louis Rotrubin, HeliDax President. "This has been possible thanks to the high availability of our aircraft and thanks to the close relationship with Turbomeca to supply the engines."
The Arrius 2F engines benefit from a SBH ® (Support by the Hour) contract, contributing to the availability of the EC120 fleet and ensuring the performance of Turbomeca to support their engines.
The Arrius 2F is silent and has an operational design. With reduced consumption and therefore less polluting, the Arrius 2F has a Time Between Overhaul (TBO) of 3,000 hours.
Since 1981, more than 2,700 Arrius engines have been manufactured by Turbomeca, totaling over six million flight hours for 430 customers in 60 countries.
HeliDax is, since January 2008, the first partnership contract launched by the French Ministry of Defense (PPP: Public-Private Partnership). The company is based within the French Army Helicopter Pilot Training School (EALAT) in Dax, in the southwest of France. HeliDax originates from a partnership between INAER Helicopter France and DCI, both 50% shareholders. Every year, the EC120 fly 20,000 hours.
